OMD Worldwide – most creative media agency in the world for the 8th year in a row, according to Gunn Report


For the eighth consecutive time, Omnicom Media Group Agency OMD Worldwide has been named the world’s most creative media agency by the Gunn Report for Media, maintaining the exclusive lock the agency has held at the top of the rankings since the report was launched in 2004.

The Gunn Report for Media is the industry standard for evaluating media creativity, ranking agencies according to their performance in the top industry awards shows around the world. Most importantly, it recognizes the vital role media agencies play in today’s highly competitive and fragmented communications landscape.

The rankings reflect a point system based on awards won in more than 50 annual award competitions worldwide. With 367 points, OMD easily bested second-ranked Starcom-Mediavest (Publicis) with 326 points and third-ranked Mindshare (WPP) with 319 points.

OMD’s top ranking reflected recognition earned in 2013 competitions by agencies from every region all across its network, select examples of which include: OMD Australia, named Media Agency of the Year in Cannes for its McDonald’s work; OMD Cairo’s “Vodafone Fakka” (Vodafone); OMD China’s “Bring Happiness Home” (PepsiCo); OMD Denmark’s “Coin Offers Coins for Clicks” (McDonald’s); OMD Dominican Republic’s “Gastronomic Heritage” (Rica Milk); OMD Hong Kong’s “I’m Amazing” (McDonald’s); OMD Lebanon’s “A Heritage Worth Review” (Dewar’s); OMD Spain’s “Free WiFi” (McDonald’s); OMD Russia’s “A Ring to Bring Them Closer” ( the Ronald McDonald Foundation); OMD UK’s “Mariachi Christmas campaign” (PepsiCo/Doritos); and OMD USA’s “Call of Duty Modern Warfare” (Activision) and “Who’s Got an Agent” (State Farm).

Elsewhere in the 2013 Gunn Report, OMD clients McDonald’s, Vodafone and Pepsi were recognized for being among the most awarded advertisers of the year.
