World Press Photo Exhibition to reach Bucharest in May

World Press Photo Exhibition will come again to Bucharest this year, starting May 8th. Organized by Eidos foundation, the exhibition will be open for the public between May 8-29, in University Square in Romanian capital.

The exhibition will also include the Photo of the Year at World Press Photo, a photography signed by the American photographer John Stanmeyer.

The exhibition to be presented in Bucharest includes 140 photos and is part of the annual international World Press Photo exhibition, an itinerant exhibition that travels the world and reaches in over 100 places in 45 countries, being visited by 3.5M people each year

WPP exhibition is an initiative of World Press Photo Foundation, founded in 1955 in Netherlands. The competition started in 1955, when 45 photographers from 11 countries entered over 300 photos in the contest. In 2012, the contest had 5,427 participants from 124 countries, which submitted 101,254 photos

The Romanian exhibition is sponsored by Bucharest City Hall, ArCub, Dutch Postcode Lottery, Canon, Microsoft, Spectacular, TNT, Biutiful and Fratelli Espresso Bar.
