Sony launches One Stadium Live, social network for football fans

A month before the start of 2014 FIFA World Cup, Sony –  FIFA’s official partner – announced the launch of One Stadium Live, a  social network site dedicated to football fans around the world

Tehe platform is the most recent digital initiative from Sony aimed to unite football fans from around the globe and make them share in the excitement of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The platform is optimized for smartphone, tablet, and personal computers.

One Stadium Live brings together football-related social media content from Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ into a single platform, with topics and posts from around the world to be organized according to people’s interests and relevance, sorted to show the most popular, latest, relevant news and posts on football.

The platform aims to serve as an unique one-stop site gathering all interesting conversation and news on football and enabling fans to unite beyond personal connections.

The platform uses Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)’s language processing tools and systems and makes available the content in 6 languages: English, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish.
