Heineken invests in Romanian local communities: Euro 300,000 in the last 4 years

Business, CSR

Heineken Romania invested, during the last 4 years, Euro 300,000 in local communities, during a program made in partnership with CSR Nest and targeting the towns where the company has factories in Romania (Constanta, Craiova, Miercurea Ciuc and Targu Mures).

The program is structured as a contest of projects submitted by local NGOs, aiming to answer to the real needs of the communities. Following an evaluation process, winning projects are selected from each local community, receiving funding from Heineken. The implementation of the projects is monitored and evaluated by CSR Nest.

During the first 3 editions of the program, Heineken invested over RON 1M in over 20 winning local projects which had, in total, over 287,000 and involved over 800 volunteers.

In 2014, the submitted projects were created to answer specific priorities, which were identified following consultations with civil society, local public authorities and local mass-media.

I strongly believe we have the mission to support the communities where we have activities and actively answer to their needs. To build a sustainable business means to give back to the community that hosts you and allows you to develop. I am proud we reached the 4th edition of Heineken for Communities program and that it is appreciated at local level, managing to answer to real needs

Onno Rombouts,

Managing Director Heineken Romania.
