Romanian Effie Awards designated their winners on Tuesday evening, with CohnandJansen JWT scooping the Grand Effie with “Purity Test” for Aqua Carpatica (client: Valvis Holding).

In total, 26 Effie awards were handed to Romanian agencies and companies: a Grand Effie, 4 Golds, 9 Silvers and 12 Bronzes.

23 Communication Ideas, Cohn and Jansen JWT, DDB Romania, Digital Star, Geometry Global Romania, GMP Advertising, Graffiti BBDO, Leo Burnett Group, McCann Worldgroup Bucharest, Publicis Romania, Orange Romania and The Geeks are the winners of Romanian Effie Awards in 2015.

This year’s Romanian Effies jury was presided by Neal Davies, president and CEO Effie Worldwide.

The entries are showing that Romania has a dynamic advertising industry and I was impressed not only by the evaluated works, but also by the people who created them, although I remain with the impression that the marketing people are their toughest critics and the most severe jurors from those I’ve met

CohnandJansen JWT got, besides Grand Effie, another 3 accolades: Gold in “Non-alcoholic beverages” and Bronze in “Brand Experience” for Aqua Carpatica – “Purity Test” and Silver in “Non-alcoholic beverages” for Jacobs 3ȋn1 and “Full-passion job”.

McCann Worldgroup Bucharest scooped five trophies: Gold in “Sustained Success” for Vodafone Romania and Silver in the same category for Neumarkt & “The Strong and Bitterish Taste”, Silver for ROM and “Revenge is sweet” (Snacks, confectionery and deserts) and Bronze for “Cif Cleans Romania” (Household supplies & services) and UniCredit Consumer Finance – “Personal Achievements Loan” (Financial Services).

Our main source of pride is to build brands that change category’s paradigm and get to have a cultural impact, showing creativity and efficiency in the same time. We showed that in all the campaigns awarded both at Effie and in Cannes.  In the last four years, Vodafone managed to win 3 Golds and a Grand Effie. This year, naturally, it came the time for a Gold in Sustained Success. Neumarkt, ROM, Unicredit and Cif joined the list of those who celebrated with champagne last night. GMP Advertising and Telekom’s launch – “Experiences together” were awarded two trophies: Silver in “Telecommunications Voice offers” and “Brand Experience”. The agency scooped another 2 accolades for Ciucas: Silver for Sustained Success – “Entering top 3 beers in Romania” and Bronze in “Alcoholic beverages” – Beers for Ciucas’ “Taking over economy beer leadership”.

Effie’ Gold trophies were awarded in “Telecommunication Internet & Data” to Orange Romania and “Dance with Millidge and Doig” and in “Financial Services” for “Visa – ANYTHING”, entered by Publicis Romania.

Digital Star was the only digital agency awarded during the Gala, for an exclusively digital campaign. The agency scooped a Bronze Effie within its category.
