Romanian GPeC came up with an overview of the Romanian e-commerce market’s looks in 2015, via a study made on a sample of 2,404 Romanian online stores.
When it comes of the products the online stores sell, most stated, according to the study, that they commercialize IT&C and electronic goods, along with appliances (559), followed by fashion (366), other products (323), home and garden (318) and articles for babies and kids, along with toys (255).
From the total of 2,400 e-stores, most are located in the Romanian capital and its surroundings (close to 1,200) and a little over a fifth in other areas of the country (566).
According to the study, a fifth of the e-shops (20%) don’t mention the name of the company on the website and as many (20,5%) don’t offer an e-mail as a way to get in contact (although many have a contact form or online chat available) while 7.5% don’t even list a phone number.
Less than half of the stores that participated to the study accept online payments with card (46%), while 56% don’t offer this option to their clients.
When it comes of social media presence, half of the stores (1,134) have Facebook pages, with most of those pages having around communities of under 5,000 fans.
