Advertising, Awards, Business

Rankin and Rankin Films announced that Vicky Lawton, Creative Director The Full Service, was awarded Best Up and Coming Female Commercial Director at 2017 Creative Circle Awards.

Part of a new wave of female directors, her work will pick you up, shake you about and put a smile on your face. Directing content across fashion, music, videos, short films and TV commercials, her approach is to create bold, attitude heavy pieces of work.

Vicky Lawton:

This recognition makes it all worth it. But it is also a sign to me to get my head down and keep going. With the support of Rankin, Pippa and all the team at Rankin Films, I feel 2017 is going to be bigger, bolder and braver.

Vicky has worked alongside Rankin for 8 years. As Creative Director, she has art directed many of his top fashion, commercial and music projects. Her creative concepts have forged bold new ideas for brands such as French Connection and Ford Mustang.

In the recent years she has turned to directing, shooting advertising, fashion and drama projects for the likes of Jil Sander, Chanel, FeelUnique, V Pure, Coco de Mer and Reiss. Alongside music videos for Dua Lipa, Rita Ora and Charlotte OC.

She was nominated for Best New Director at the 2015 Shots Awards and won Silver at the Young Director Awards in Cannes 2016.

With the awards rolling in and the ranks being bolstered from without and within, Rankin Films continues to move from strength to strength. Rankin has also just announced the appointment of 2 major players also at Rankin Film, Nicola Kenney as Global Executive Producer and Beth Montague as Executive Producer.

While this latest award bears testimony to the direction we are taking at Rankin Films, it is also a reminder that we are just scratching the surface. The arrival, in Nicola and Beth, of two of the most talented and experienced producers around, is the next phase. The sky really is the limit.

Nicola Kenney:

I didn’t realise how much I missed Rankin until I started working twenty hour days with him again. I feel like we are joining at a crucial point in the industry as we see more changes than we have done in years.

Clients are looking for one-stop shops that can cover all their creative and production needs. Rankin’s set up does that with aplomb: world-class facilities under one roof alongside a hugely talented team with massive potential and a can-do attitude. It is the future.

Beth Montague:

Having all worked together years ago back at HSI, it feels like we’re getting the old band back together. I am very excited to be part of such a forward-thinking and creative team
