The concert and cultural events organizers in Romania are saluting the decisions taken by the Romanian authorities in order to stop the coronavirus pandemic. The ones activating in the cultural events area – events companies, production, logistics, ticketing, as well as their employees and their collaborators – they are all declaring their support towards the authorities’ efforts and are calling alongside them the beneficiaries of their work: the Romanian concerts’, festivals and cultural events’ public. To support together those that make all the efforts in these hard days, to respect their work and their recommendations and to hope, together, in an as happy and as fast outcome as possible.

Meanwhile, organized under Asociatia Romana a Organizatorilor de Concerte si Evenimente Culturale (AROC) – The Romanian Cultural Concerts and Events Association, the biggest companies in the cultural events’ industry asked the Government for discussions and proposed measures meant to save the employees, the collaborators, the free professionals and the families of those that work in this field that is so heavily impacted by the context of this pandemic. By analyzing the impact that the spread of the pandemic has over the industry and having in mind the companies directly involved and related (ticketing companies, technical equipment companies, etc) of which depend thousands of lives, the Association representatives are being bound to attract the attention over the economic and social impact that this unprecedented situation presents.

This pandemic doesn’t mean only the cancelling / postponing of events and stopping the ticket sales, but also questions the public and private partnerships with the support of which we are succeeding in paying the salaries of those who work alongside us. We are taking all the necessary measures in order to transmit the right message towards the authorities – that of analyzing the serious impact that today’s context has also over this industry and of implementing a series of concrete measures meant to support in the following months the representatives of the cultural and events’ industry,” said Codruta Vulcu, AROC president.

The information sent to the Romanian Government, to the Ministry of Economy, to the Ministry of Public Finances and ANAF propose measures without which the events organizing industry in Romania will confront itself with an unseen before crisis.

There are needed measures that will come in the help of the event organizers, production and logistics companies, the professional independent personnel that activates in this field, the independent artists’ help, etc; otherwise, an industry that was built in years of hard work will collapse in just some weeks, without having chances of recovering in the next years. And this fall will impact greatly the lives of thousands of families whose livelihood depends on the revenues generated by the industry,” added Codruta Vulcu.

AROC reassures those who want to see their favorite artists that all the organizers, the logistic and production companies, the ticketing companies, the artists and the musicians work in a strong rhythm for the taking place of the scheduled events will take place starting end of Spring, as longs as the restrictions will be lifted. For now they are working from home. It is clear that only together we will surpass this situation, with respect and attention and following the strict prevention measures communicated and with the trust in a better future.

AROC recommends once again the work from home, listening to the authorities and enyoying the music from your own space.

AROC is formed by the organizers of the biggest concerts and festivals in Romania: ARTmania (ARTmania Festival Sibiu, Blaj aLive), Asociatia Fapte (Jazz in the Park), Asociatia Mozaic (Mozaic Jazz Festival), Best Music Live, Electric Castle, Emagic Live (Awake Festival), NEVERSEA, Plai, SNRS (Sunwaves Festival), Summer Well, UNTOLD, Why Not Us (Street Food Festival), Wise Factor.
