Golden Drum moves from Portoroz to Rovinj, scheduled for end of September

Golden Drum is scheduled to take place on 23 September in Rovinj, Croatia, instead of Portoroz. The festival will be organized as a live event hosted by Weekend Media Festival.

Each year Golden Drum celebrates those, who left their mark on the industry and managed to breathe a soul into a great idea. After a long break from real-life experiences, the festival is ready to rebuild the lost connection with a strong desire to reunite and reignite creativity.

“Golden Drum will embark on a unique journey. Our crew is ready to move and settle in Rovinj, Croatia, only 70 kilometres from Portorož. Indeed, this year we will celebrate creativity in all its glory on 23 September on the Croatian Riviera” said Mojca Briščik, president of the Golden Drum Festival.

Golden Drum Festival Pass includes a day full of inspiration, the latest trends, creative insights from acclaimed professionals, an Awards Show, and a crazy party to top it all off.

“We are extremely honoured to welcome Golden Drum to the Weekend Media Festival. Golden Drum has been a byword for excellence for decades in the creative industry. This collaboration connects the two biggest media, marketing, and communications events in the region. We are looking forward to getting together in Rovinj!’’ added Tomo Ricov, director of the Weekend Media Festival.

The best ideas, campaigns, the best creative teams and individuals of this year’s Golden Drum competition will be awarded by 55 esteemed industry professionals from our region and beyond. The four juries are led by:

  • One-Channel Drum Jury President Anselmo Ramos, Co-Founder and Creative Chairman, GUT, North America / South America
  • Omni-Channel Jury President Johnny Tan, Executive Creative Director, 72andSunny, Asia Pacific
  • Craft Drum Jury President Sandra Planeta, Founder and Creative Director, Planeta Design, Sweden 
  • Creative Business Excellence Drum Jury President Danielle Crook-Davies, VP of Marketing, Netflix, EMEA 

The festival’s competition is calling for entries in four main sections, plus a special one. The novelties introduced this year include two new special awards – Production Agency of the Year & Digital Agency of the Year, a new category in group C (Creative Use of Technology), and new possibilities for entering a series of works.

To top it all off, the partnership with Little Black Book will see all Golden Drum Grand Prix winners entered directly and free of charge into The Immortal Awards.

The annual Young Drummers Competition is open worldwide until 5 August 2022 and invites all talents under 30 to enter the most creative poster or video on the topic of “Hey you, become the future of tourism!” Author of the best work will win a 1,000 EUR prize, a free pass to attend the Golden Drum Festival 2022, plus an opportunity to showcase their creative potential in front of world-renowned professionals.

28th Golden Drum Festival is hosted by Weekend Media Festival, therefore media accreditations will be issued by Croatian organizers of the Weekend Media Festival.
