Cars, coffee, smartphones, painkillers, many things we now take for granted, were once revolutionary scientific breakthroughs. To celebrate 100 years of the Deutsches Museum, Amsterdam-based creative agency KesselsKramer has created a campaign that pays tribute to the inventions that changed our world.

Since its opening in 1925, Deutsches Museum has been one of the largest, most important, and most historically significant science and technology museums in the world. With 549 employees, 125,000 objects, 991,000 library items, and 43,800 square meters of space across five locations, the museum preserves scientific artifacts from atomic physics to aeronautics, from chemistry to bridges and hydraulic engineering, and from musical instruments to health.

So when celebrating 100 years of Deutsches Museum, it’s not just about celebrating the museum, but also celebrating the inventions and discoveries that have revolutionized our lives.

By placing 100 life-changing scientific inventions on colorful pedestals, the objects themselves collectively form a colourful “100”. This wordmark, created from the inventions, serves as a unifying visual element across the entire campaign.

The new anniversary campaign builds on the ALL is Science brand positioning developed by KesselsKramer in 2022 and appears across digital out-of-home, online video, display advertising, social media, and banners in and around the museum.
