Electrolux celebrates 50 years since launching its logo

August 23, 2012September 12, 2012 Cristina Blanaru Branding

Electrolux celebrates 50 years since launching its logo. Today’s logo was created in 1961, by Carlo Vivarelli (graphician from Switzerland) , following a competition in which were involved over 80 specialists.

Previous to 196, Electrolux’s logo had the shape of a globe, that was including a sun and the name of the company, in bold letters. In 1961, Swedish management of the company decided the logo doesn’t correspond to market’s demands and decided to undergo a radical challenge.

A 7 people jury made a shortlist from the total of 123 works submitted, with Vivarelli being designated winner.

Electrolux is global leader on home and professional home appliances, with annual sales of over 40M products to clients in over 150 countries. Electrolux ranges include fridges, dish washing machines, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, stoves and conditioned air systems, sold under brands like Electrolux, AEG, Eureka and Frigidaire.
