Romanian Smite and Colorbitor made the 1st AR app campaign, for Smite’s client Aloe Vera HKK. The Augmented Reality app is part of an activation campaign running in Rompetrol oil stations, between August 1st – September 30th.

Aloe Vera HKK is a still drink with fruit, no preserving substances, aditives or fat, rich in C Vitamin and Calcium. In Romania, the product is commercialized by Avatar Trading, importer of more natural niche products.

The campaign is declined through a 3D animation, made together with the visual atelier Colorbitor and is signalized in Rompetrol oil stations through stickers positioned on the floor, inscribed with QR codes. Any smartphone user that scans the QR code will be redirected towards a 3D animation, that has as characters 2 pieces of Aloe fruit, Virtu and Ala. By scanning the QR code, clients are receiving a code they can present to the cashier and win a 0.5l Aloe Vera HKK bottle.

We used Junaio Augmented Reality browser. We think that accessing the content through an unique program, differently from installing dedicated app, decrease the time consumed by users and marketers’ costs

Running from start of August until end of September, the campaign was already a success among Rompetrol clients. From the first weeks, over 300 awards were claimed from cash registers in the oil stations, from the total of 500 offered as prizes.

Although a relatively new concept in Romania, Augmented Reality is a mechanism that local advertising agency have in reach and that allows a better interactivity with the consumer and doesn’t need big financial investments, only creativity. Campaign’s idea supports the product, through its natural properties; from there it also came the idea to use some pieces of aloe vera that suggest the freshness of the fruits and the energy they offer

Besides the 3D animation, the activation campaign is supported by posters and woblers, present in Rompetrol oil stations also.

The team that worked on the campaign included Mihai Titirig – Copywriter, Silviu Antohe – Art Director Smite and Sorina Dumbrava – Account Manager from Smite and Colorbitor team.
