US remains the most admired nation globally, according to Anholt-GfK Roper Index for country brands

United States continue to lead globally in what concerns the international image, according to GfK Roper Public Affairs & Corporate Communications.

The results of Anholt-GfK Roper Country brands Index 2010, that measures the international image of 50 countries, shows US on the 1st place for the 2nd consecutive year. Among the top 10 nations, Southern Europe registered a few changes, with Spain not enetring the top 10 anymore and Italy being surpassed by Canada. Also, Germany outranks now France.

As for Romania, the country ranks in the lower third of the top, the main strong point for Romania being the governance, with the highest score for peace, security and environment. Exports are a weak component for Romania’s image. Also, Romania ranks the worst among Eastern European countries and the best among latin-american countries.

The Nations Brands Index 2010 was made from July 7th to August 4th in 20 developed and developing countries that play diverse roles in international relations, commerce and business, culture and tourism

Realized annually together with GfK Roper starting spring of 2008, the Index of Country Brands Anholt-GfK Roper 2010 measures the image of 50 nations. Each yearm around 20,000 adults aged over 18 are interviewed online, in 20 countries from the main panel.
