Romanian men with ages of 17-28 y.o. that own iPhones are dominant on the Romanian mobile internet. Most of them graduated university and have a monthly income of RON 1,000 – 4,000, according to trafic.ro.
Demographically, men use more mobile internet than women – 85.3% vs 13.7%. Among mobile internet users, most studied at university (64%) or attended high-school (31.1%), and have an income between RON 1,000-4,000 (Euro 300-900).
Mobile internet user that access the websites monitored by trafic.ro represent 2% of the total number that access those sites. Most of them are young people with ages 17-28 y.o. (52.7%), followed by people of 29-40 y.o. (33.6%) and 40-60 y.o (13.4%).
The most used smartphones on Romanian market are iPhone-ul (54%) with iPhone classic, iPad and iPod Touch most popular, than Nokia (18% – mainly N95, N96 si 97, E63, E71, E72, Nokia 5230, Nokia 5800 models), HTC (7% – Desire, Wildfire, HD2, Hero, Espresso, Touch Diamond), Samsung (6% – Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab, Galaxy 5 and SGH-U800) and Blackberry (6% – Blackberry 9700, 9500, 8500).
The smartphones used by Romanians have touch screen and use mainly Safari, Android Webkit, BlackBerry, Opera Mini, Nokia or Opera browsers. Also, when it comes of carriers, the most used are Orange, than Vodafone and Cosmote, while the network types are 3G (61%), Wi-Fi (39%).
When navigating over the internet from their mobiles, Romanians are most interested in news and mass media, business and commerce, entertainment, auto&moto and e-commerce.
