Cocoa Platypus made a special check-in for Museums Night

ITC, Mobile

Cocoa Platypus made the 1st check-in app developed strictly for an event, with preset locations from Romania. The app was made for Museums Night and was developed as a contest for Samsung, for all smartphone or tablet users.

The check-in system was developed specially for this app, that conditioned users presence in at least 3 out of 6 preset locations: National Library, Romanian National Art Museum, Romanian Villager Museum, Astronomical Observer, National Museum of Contemporary Art, Technical Museum. All participants that accessed the app and checked in in at least 2 museums, plus National Library, entered automatically in a contest with prizes.

Check-In the Galaxy was accessible by scanning a QR code from the participant locations, just during events night. The app was functional on any smartphone or tablet.

Almost 3 years ago, we started developing our own apps, that helped us to know the industry and become competitive on the international commercial apps market. At the beginning of this year, we noticed an increase of interest for them in Romania and we decided to offer commercial app developing services for local market. I think our experience at international level was one of the main reasons why Samsung decided to work with us. The relation with them was a very good one and we hope to repeat it on the future

The app was downloaded and used by over 3,000 people that entered the race for prizes. The participants checked in for over 5,000 times at the 5 participant museums and National Library.
