Digital & Media, Media, Social Media

Romanian state news agency Agerpres and Thomson Reuters Foundation continue, between July 14-17, the series of organized classes  with the module “Social Media and Digital Journalism”, to be held in Thessaloniki (Greece).

The classes will be held by John Mastrini, trainer with over 20 years of experience in management and publishing for new Reuters media projects, and targets the journalists from the agencies that are members of ABNA-SE (Balkans Press Agencies Association). The training offers opportunities to improve the knowledge and abilities in social media and digital journalism.

Journalists from Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Republic of Moldova, Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Romania will acquire notions related to known social platforms (Facebook, Twitter), about live blogging for breaking news and about creating multimedia reportages.

At the end of the module, participants will be able to identify news using social media, to edit online content, to recognize eventual ethical problems, to verify online sources to avoid doubtful news or to build and maintain a community around their journalistic products.
