The Gate hires Kerry Fyans to spearhead media

Business, Creativity, People

Creative and media company, The Gate London, has today announced the appointment of former Jaywing’s Epiphany director Kerry Fyans as Head of Media.

Fyans will be tasked with sharpening the media planning and buying offering to ensure it expresses the company’s ‘Boundless’ mindset, and to grow it as the market seeks independent and nimble alternatives to the faltering network and holding companies.

Fyans has 17 years’ experience working in media agencies.  She spent 10 years in the Dentsu Aegis Network in various roles ranging from Associate Director, where she was responsible for the extensive digitally-led Thomas Cook account, to General Manager at iProspect Australia. She also worked with DAN in Amplifi, the Groups’ investment & partnerships arm as Head of Global & Local Media Partnerships.

She has extensive experience in a wide range of sectors including travel, finance, automotive, FMCG, QSR and retail for clients such as Thomas Cook, Virgin Australia, Domino’s, Adidas, Nissan, General Motors, L’Oreal, P&G, National Australian Bank and Australian Govt.

Fyan’s arrival at MSQ Partners lead communications company follows the appointment of a new leadership team in 2017: Beri Cheetham, former ECD of Leo Burnett; Jamie Elliott, ex-CEO of MullenLowe London; and Kit Altin, former Head of Innovation and Global Strategy Director at Leo Burnett.

The hire also comes on the back of recent wins including Church & Dwight, The Electoral Commission and Canal & River Trust.

Jamie Elliott, CEO of The Gate London:

We are delighted Kerry has chosen to join us.  She is the consummate modern communications leader with an unparalleled experience across the media landscape.  Kerry’s intelligence, openness and drive will add considerably to our ability to deliver the collaborative and creative media solutions we see more clients seeking as an alternative to the leaden-footed networks.

Kerry Fyans :

I’m really excited to be joining The Gate and a strong leadership team in Jamie, Kit and Beri. With digital progressing at a phenomenal rate, and more clients demanding a cohesive, nimble agency capable of fully embracing change, it’s never been more important for strategy, media and creative to fuse into one cohesive unit. That is exactly what The Gate is able to offer its’ clients.

The Gate, founded in 1986, has always been a full-service advertising agency (creative plus channel planning and buying) with offices in London, Edinburgh, New York and Hong Kong. It is owned by MSQ Partners, the international marketing communications group. The Gate London’s clients include Church & Dwight, Canal & River Trust, The Electoral Commission, Chiltern Railways, Close Brothers, RBS, Douglas & Gordon, Greater London Authority, the Crown Commercial Service, Brewin Dolphin and Capital Group.
