Romanian cosmetics producer Farmec posts a 46% increase in sales for its online platform for 2019

Farmec, the biggest Romanian cosmetics producer, keeps developing its e-commerce segment and posted an accelerated increase of revenues for its online store, In 2019, Farmec’s online sales increased by over 46%, compared to the results achieved in 2018, and, for 2020, the company estimates an increase of at least 25%.

2019 was a success year when it comes the results achieved by Farmec online, in line with the ascending trend of the e-commerce market. The average monthly number of unique visitors increased to over 200.000 people, which shows us the preference of the Romanian consumers to buy online. We are always attentive to the desires and needs of our consumers, reason why we started, this year, implementing two new ways to deliver for online orders, which will offer to clients efficient and faster solutions, having the option to pick up the orders directly from brand stores or from lockers made available by partner courier services

A significant increase was noticed also among the transactions made via mobile phone, with their number increasing with over 60% in 2019, compared to previous year. This increase determined the company to plan a new expansion strategy for its online store by developing an own mobile app. Moreover, the online platform will have a new format, with intuitive functionalities for consumers.


When it comes of the payment method, from all orders registered in 2019, over 25% were paid by card, percentage up compared to the previous year. To encourage more the card payment, Farmec continues to develop special campaigns, insuring the users the payments are secure and faster.

Due to new digital marketing strategies in e-commerce area, Farmec estimates that, in 2020, the average number of visitors will increase by 20% and the average value of the basked will go up 15%.

Right now, the average medium value of the basket is over RON150, with the most appreciated product ranges in company’s portfolio in 2019 being: Gerovital H3 Evolution, Aslavital, Farmec, Gerovital Tratament Expert  and Gerovital Beauty. Other appreciated products from Farmec are brands for cleaning, like Nufar and Triumf.
