Cannes Lions Romania and SeniorHyper launched “MeetUp in Cannes”, the pretext for the Cyber competition, to which are invited to enter young people specialized in web design, digital arts and programming.

Brief’s objective is to create an app to allow each of the 12,000 participants in Cannes Lions to introduce to each other, to network or to find their perfect employer or employee, or the love for the festival or for a lifetime.

The creators of this “Cannes’ Tinder”, dedicated to the creative community, should represent, in the secondary plan, a presentation card for Romania, always  voluble, intelligent and sociable.

The age limit for participants is 28 y.o. The contenders can enter their solutions either individually or as a team. The best ideas are awarded Euro 2,500 scholarships to The Alternative School / Cannes semester, scheduled to start in the end of February.

After 8 weeks of study and internal competitions, the best Alternative team will go to Cannes to represent Romania in Cyber competition of the festival.

Last year, Bianca Dumitrascu and Razvan Ghilencea, an Alternative team, was awarded Gold in the Cyber competition, where the attendants came from 37 countries with tradition in the field.

The winners of «MeetUp in Cannes» will be announced on February 26th, during “The Best of Design” / “The best of Product Design”, the first of “The Best of Cannes” series of events this year.

The works on shortlist and the winning ones will be available for discovery and online analysis on The Alternative School for Creative Thinking’s Facebook page.

In its 10 years of representation in Romania, Cannes Lions’ Romanian office mobilized industry’s creative energies, motivated them, educated and encouraged them to shine on the international stages, in competitions and juries, at seniors’ and juniors’ levels. The first Romanian entries to the festival, the first hundred Romanian delegates, the youngest delegates in the world at the festival, the first Romanian jurors in the evaluation panel, 2 consecutive Golds in 2013 (Design) and 2014 (Cyber) for Romanian Young Lions teams educated at The Alternative School – are only a few of the consequences of a sustained lobby and of a brilliant coaching strategy practiced at industry’s scale. The first 10 years of Cannes Lions Romania are celebrated with a series of networking events and discovering of the most interesting trends in the contemporary communication under the umbrella “The Best of Cannes”.
