Drums of the Romanian agencies – considerations over Golden Drum’s results

Creativity, Festivals & Awards

McCann Erickson Bucharest / MRM Worldwide, GMP Advertising/Webstyler, Propaganda, Geometry Global Bucharest and Saatchi & Saatchi are the Romanian agencies that received accolades at the 20th edition of Golden Drum, as we already wrote after the festival made known the last winners of this year’s edition.

This year, 113 of the total 1395 entries submitted to this year’s Golden Drum come from Romania, according to a press release from festival’s organizers. According to the provided numbers, Romania’s participation in this year competition decreased compared to 2012, when Romanian agencies were present at the awards with 132 entries.

What did they say after the festival ended and the results were known?

Designated Agency Network of the Year, McCann Bucharest is the most awarded agency from Romania at Golden Drum 2013, with 8 prizes: 1 Grand Prix, 1 Golden Drum and 6 Silver Drums.

We bet on innovation and integration and this is what differentiated us at Golden Drum. We got 75% from the points in the region for digital campaigns, and, for Romania, the percentage was 95%. I am glad to see McCann winning very difficult categories such as Mobile, Digital and Innovative with campaigns for important clients of the agency, such as Coca-Cola, KFC, Rom, Vodafone for Romania or Turkish Airlines and Kredex in the region

VP Creative Excellence CEE.

The 8 prizes won by McCann Bucharest at Golden Drum 2013 are adding to another 3 important accolades from Cannes Lions 2013, with “Digital Library” campaign, developed for Vodafone Romania.

Besides the awards it received, GMP Advertising  also got the Tartini Award and the title Independent Agency of the Year, with 30 points won during the festival.

Andreea Nemens - Executive Director GMP Advertising

This award is, for us, a gift that helps us achieve the objective to be, on long term, the most creative independent agency in Romania and in New Europe. And we’re very gratful for it. It is, in the same time, an award that give us trust and motivates us a lot. The “Why don’t you come over” campaign is a success one for Romania, for Gandul.info and for the agency. GMP helps brands to help people and this campaign only demonstrates us that “doing good is good business”

Executive Director GMP Advertising.

 Felix Tataru

I believe the agencies have, in this moment, a great power to be useful to the society. This year’s winning campaigns at Golden drum show us that: Rom from McCann Romania, Cohabitation from New Moment and Gandul from GMP. I wish for all agencies and brands to make more of this type of campaigns

Felix Tataru,

General Manager GMP Advertising.

GMP was the most awarded Romanian independent agency at Golden Drum, while Gandul.info, that developed together with GMP the “Why Don’t you come over” campaign, was the most awarded Romanian brand.

The other Romanian agencies that were awarded at Golden Drum this year were Saatchi Romania, Geometry Global Bucharest and Propaganda Bucharest .

Propaganda Bucharest scooped Silver in “Film” with 2 ads part of “Selgros. It worths!” campaign for Selgros.

The campaign was communicate on more media channels, from TV to OOH, transit, radio, digital, social media and PR .

This year’s award comes as a confirmation of a truth we believe in, which is that the best campaigns, those who attract attention from juries so important such as Golden Drum’s is, you make also due to the openness of the client, due to the partnership relation, not client-agency relation, that one manages to establish with the client. Selgros is such a client, open, receptive, that understands that efficiency and creativity of a campaign work very well together. We believe in such clients and we are happy that we have the occassion to be happy  together for this kind of prizes

Managing Director Propaganda.
