Financial crisis brought more commercials on Romanian TV stations in 2010

Marketing, Media

The commercial TV stations registered an increased of 27% in advertising volumes, although the budgets were, this year, smaller than in the previous year, according to Adevarul and Paginademedia.ro.

According to an article published by online edition of the Romanian daily Adevarul, commercial TV ran, this year, 3 million ads, as the advertisers chose to bet on TV for spending their advertising budgets, even if that neglected other media channels.

The financial crises meant reductions of advertising budgets, but TV’s reply was a cut of their prices. The consequence was that the programs were filled with ads and those ones represented a stress factor for the audience. Also, the big number of ads made the TV stations cross over the 12 minutes of hourly advertising allowed and attracted a big number of sanctions from Romanian National Council of Audiovisual.
