Romanian tourism might go on Facebook after representatives of Romanian Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism met Mark Cowan, Head of Emerging Markets CEEMEA – Facebook, to discuss the ways the platform and Facebook apps can help Romanian tourism.

The meeting took place “to analyze the perspectives of working together in a strategic marketing partnership between Romanian Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism and Facebook”, according to a Ministry’s press release.

Facebook’s representative said that a partnership with a Governmental institution is a novelty for Facebook also and said he hopes that the platform’s experience in running commercial campaigns can be used in future campaign to promote Romania as a touristic destination.

Facebook team is very excited of the possibility of being involved in this project. We think the relation created between users and brand, through social advocacy, will create an extremely powerful message inside Facebook
