Marc Walder takes over as CEO of Ringier AG, replacing Christian Unger

Business, Media, Profiler

Marc Walder took over as CEO of Ringier AG, as he holds already the position of CEO at Ringier Switzerland and Germany. Walder is succeeding Christian Unger at the head of the organization, after Unger, heading Ringier AG since January 1, 2009, decided to step down.

After a three-year reconstruction period, Ringier is now a broadly diversified media enterprise and with the Ringier Axel Springer Media AG joint venture, the company has achieved an excellent position in Central and Eastern Europe. This is the right time for me to accept new responsibilities.

Christian Unger

Marc Walder completed the Ringier School of Journalism. Previous positions include Head of Sports of the Blick Group and Editor-in-Chief of Schweizer Illustrierte and SonntagsBlick, before he took over the operational responsibility for Ringier Switzerland and Germany and joined the Group Executive Board in 2008. Walder will assume the office of CEO of Ringier AG effective immediately.

Ringier AG is also active on Romanian market, where it recently took over of eJobs portal.  Ringier has been active in Romania since 1992. Nowadays, it has over 400 employees and positions itself as leader in Romanian international publishing segment of the country.
