Philip Kotler – awarded Doctor Honoris Causa title by Bucharest University

Bucharest University (UB) awarded Doctor Honoris Causa title to Philip Kotler, following a proposal of Communication and Journalism Faculty, during a ceremony that took place on May 31st. The ceremony, headed by the president of UB Senate, University professor and doctor Vlad Nistor, took place in UB’s Aula and had as assistance couple hundreds students, professors and representatives of Romanian communication industry.

The high academic title was awarded to Philip Kotler due to his Universitary and scientific prestige at international level.

Philip Kotler is one of the founding fathers of contemporary marketing, through his contributions to this field. He is the one that created the 4P theory in marketing – product, placement, price and promotion – and of the social marketing concept. Philip Kotler is also the author of the classic manual for advertising and marketing programs all over the workd – Marketing Management.

I am honored to be with you today, in this institution extremely influential for the marketing and communication education in Romania. You set up the bases for one of the most creative marketing communities, that made fantastic progress in adopting the instruments and concepts that define modern communication

Philip Kotler is present in Bucharest for a certified training “Marketing through values”, targeted to marketing specialists and that will take place, on June 1st, at Romanian Atheneum.
