Golden Drum Festival, Mayor of Piran and Tourist Association Portorož announced Piran Portorož Poster Award (PPPA) 2012 competition for the most creative poster.
Young creatives, under age of 30, from countries of New Europe are invited to participate to the competition, with the author of the best poster to be awarded an Euro 1.000 prize and two full personal registrations for Golden Drum Festival 2013, including accommodation.
Deadline for the PPPA 2012 competition is 18 September 2012.
In 2013, Golden Drum Festival celebrates its 20th anniversary. Two decades ago, a new market democracy rose behind the ruins of the Berlin wall. The Golden Drum in the westernmost part of New Europe, as it was first named, raised a mirror to the newly formed advertising profession, reflecting its own and foreign examples, fair play and targeted effort/creativity. Golden Drum allowed the creative industry of New Europe (Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan)to recognize, appraise and integrate itself, ultimately becoming a new original entity on the global advertising map.
Portorož and Piran were noted on the map of New Europe as its creative metropolis that dictates the standard rules of the profession, creativity and hospitality; a place that unites competitors and celebrates winners.
For the competition, the brief asks the interested creatives to design and send a poster proposal, under the theme “Portoroz Piran, Home of Golden Drum for 20 Years”. The competition allows creatives to use a series of Golden Drum photos available online, their own photo material, illustration or fictional image.
Young creatives can enter Piran Portorož Poster Awards without paying any registration fee, with the condition for them to be under 30 years old (born after 5 October 1982) and from countries of New Europe.
Besides the big prize, the authors of 2nd and 3rd ranked posters will each receive two full registrations for the Golden Drum Festival 2013.
