IAA Romania’s position on Romanian Competition Council’s decision to fine 11 Romanian media agencies

IAA Romania made public its position related to Romanian Competition Council’s decision to fine 11 Romanian agencies for a possible agreement.

The official position of IAA Romania comes after Romanian Competition Council fined 11 Romanian agencies handling media buying for different advertising clients, in the end of an investigation that lasted 2 years. The total amount of the fines reached to RON 14.5M, equivalent with almost Euro 3.2M.

Below, IAA Romania’s position, as officially communicated by its Managing Board to the media:

IAA Romania acknowledged the investigation made by Competition Council and doesn’t aim to discuss its conclusions.

IAA Romania supports the accelerated implementation of good practices guides, such are the Ethical Code and Pitches’ Guide, in collaboration with all authorized institutions and will continue to act in order to create a professional and equitable business environment, to benefit a correct business climate

IAA Romania expresses public its support for the efforts made by the media agencies member of UAPR (Romanian Advertising Agencies’ Association) to make and implement correct business practices among the players on the market
