GPeC SUMMIT, the autumn’s E-Commerce and Digital Marketing event, alongside its partners iSense Solutions, launch the first results of the annual study “The e-commerce market in Romania”.
The study presents the evolution of the market in the last three years and is representative for urban, where the volume of transactions is important for the creation of such a study. From year to year, the number of those doing online shopping is growing, therefore, in 2019, 27% more Romanians bought products and services online at least once a month, compared to 2017. Compared to 2018, the growth was of 10%.
Moreover, Romanians spend the biggest amount of money online on trips and tourism services (RON 1.429 lei medium a year) and electronics and domestic appliances (RON 1.129 medium a year).
Each year we are analyzing the changes that happen at a behavioral level among Romanians, on the e-commerce products and services websites. From year to year we notice constant growth in the market. We are interested, especially, to see the evolution of the number of people that are accessing the e-commerce websites and the reason for which they prefer the online commerce to the physical stores’ one. The market continues to be favorable for the opening of new stores, but the old brands, already known by the public, are the ones that are preferred by Romanians. I am looking forward to the event on November 4th and 5th in order to show the complete results of the study in front of the most passionate specialists in the industry,” said Andrei Cânda, Managing Partner iSense Solutions.
