Gemius to measure online audiences in Moldavia

Gemius, EMEA online internet research leader, was appointed by BATI (Moldavian Bureau of Audit for Audience and Internet) to make the official audit of Moldavian web audience. The introduction of gemiusAudience study in Moldavia is an important step for the local online market, that gains this way an official measurement standard. Also, Gemius selection is an important advance for gemiusAudience study, which continues its international expansion in 2012.

While the value of Moldavian online classified in 2010 was of Euro 1.14M, it increased to Euro 1.3M in 2011. TV budgets and outdoor budgets were way ahead internet last year, with values of Euro 13.3M and Euro 6.11M. In spite of that, online advertising market had one of the biggest growth rates (almost 14% year per year), attracting both users and more and more attention from advertising agencies.

The agreement regarding gemiusAudience study in Moldavia was signed at the start of February 2012, following BATI decision to appoint Gemius as official provider of online audience data.

 

This decision is a crucial one for the market, because it aims to unify the internet industry and to increase the online advertising channels efficiency. Given Gemius significant experience in making quality studies on online audiences all over Europe and their understanding for CEE region’s specific, we are looking forward to our cooperation on Moldavian market.

The Moldavian gemiusAudience study will use cookie panel methodology, used by Gemius on most EMEA markets. After implementing the scripts in the sites included in the study, the data collection will start, with the first data on Moldavian web audience to be delivered in May 2012.
