UPC Romania launches Teki remote controller, an innovation for kids

UPC celebrates children’s month by launching a children inspired gadget, dedicated to them – Teki remote controller. The product, a first on Romanian market, allows kids to enjoy fun and educative content and is also a help for parents that want to protect their kids of watching inappropriate programs for their age.

With Teki, kids can watch exclusively their favorite cartoon and generalist preferred channels and can also a games portal offered by UPC. Besides the protection offered to children, the product is an useful gadget for parents, that don’t need to put passwords on channels or hide remote controllers, but can gave to their kids a special remote.

The remote controller from UPC is to be used for 3-12 years old kids.

According to studies, kids in Romania spend, on average, 20 hours a week in front of their TV or computer. With this new product, we aim to help parents to protect their children’s innocence, without limiting the little ones. Teki is a product inspired by kids, exclusively made for them, and we are convinced they will appreciate it. Its launch is part of a series of initiatives such as Magic Desktop or safety navigating online guide, through which UPC is contributing to shaping a safe future for kids and of an environment they can develop in an harmonious manner

Teki remote controler has buttons dedicated for kids channels – Minimax, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Duck TV, Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, Jim Jam and DaVinci Learning – and a button for the games portal. Take have 2 main usage options:  Kid and Adult. The 1st one allows the children to access only pre-defined channels, while the second allows adults to see any channel.

UPC will offer the remote controller for free to its clients that have subscriptions for some of its packages. Also, the remote controller will be available to buy independently, for a price of around Euro 10, by all UPC clients.
