The 8th annual edition of GPeC (e-Commerce Awards Gala) took place in Bucharest on November 5th, with over 600 people being present at the most important Romanian e-commerce related event. During the day, 39 top speakers from Romania and abroad took the stage and share their know-how.

In 2013, GPeC reached a new milestone: over 600 people directly involved in e-commerce were present during event’s day and we had constantly over 400 people during the discussion panels. We thank all of them for the high interest they showed and we congratulate the winners, as they really deserve our appreciation. For the 8th year in a row, the most important Romanian e-commerce players were awarded at GPeC. The trophies were awarded to the best online shops from the 120 that entered the competition; the accolades were given following a complex evaluation process, that took place during 6 months and involved 20 specialists, members of the jury. Also, there were given awards for banks (based on RomCard statistics), but also to the companies directly involved in the e-commerce industry for outstanding performances, initiative, performance and encouraging and developing the market.

Considering the competition’s section, the winners were:

  • Covera.ro – best e-commerce start-up in 2013
  • WatchShop.ro – best online shop in Experienced group 2013
  • Paravion.ro – e-Commerce of the year in  E-Commerce 2013

Online shops awarded in merchandised products/services, in terms of jury vot:

GPeC 2013 – awards for performances, initiative, innovation, educating and developing the market:

  • ShopMania.ro – best price comparison mechanism
  • F64.ro – online store with best presence in social media (award based on ZeList Monitor statistics and with exclusively taking in consideration the shops participating to GPeC 2013)
  • Carrefour Romania & METRO Romania – encouraging and developing Romanian e-commerce market (big offline retailers with presence online)
  • RCA-Ieftin.ro – the campaign “Discounts Below The Line” – original concept for a promotional campaign made for an e-commerce website
  • FloriDeLux.ro – performance in E-Commerce and global level expansion through a partnership with  1800-flowers.com

Accolades for banks, awarded based on RomCard statistics

  • Transilvania Bank – the most merchandisers enrolled by a bank in  3D Secure (370 active merchants in October 2013)
  •  Transilvania Bank – best evolution of a bank’s 3D secure during the last 12 months (149.903 transactions registered in September 2013 versus 24.020 in the same period in 2012)
  • BRD-GSG – highest processed volume / Bank of the Year in E-Commerce 2013 (2.472.100 transactions made from October 2012 to September 2013)

GPeC 2013 Gala was preceded by National E-Commerce Conferences, where 39 Romanian and international speakers debated the most important subjects of the moment for the e-commerce market: market’s situation and predictions for next year, optimizing conversions and increasing sales, persuasive techniques for sales, online marketing, social media, PPC campaigns.
